Meet Jason
Jason began his summer camp journey as a homesick 9 year old and now has a 30 year career with summer camps. After 6 years as a camper he was invited to return as a counselor-in-training, then over the years becoming a junior, senior, and head counselor. He’s been an activity counselor, a certified wilderness trip leader, a lifeguard, a program director, a food packer, a pine cone picker-upper, a cabin sweeper, a homesick camper helper, and is now the Special Events Coordinator at the same camp he attended as a 9 year old.

We were in the middle of a pandemic and crazy enough to think we could pull off camp and I knew we needed some energy and fun before we started the summer. Enter Jason LeVasseur! He is the definition of energy and engagement. He is thoughtful and goofy and he relates to staff so well! Jason was the perfect fit to bring in for our second day of staff training during a pandemic! Behind the scenes, Jason was easy to work with and communicated great. We met via phone a few times to discuss our goals and best practices to be safe in person. He made my life as a camp director so easy. I basically showed up that day and sat back! He is also patient and listens carefully and empathetically to campers and counselors alike. At the start of each summer, Jason holds motivational and team-building sessions with the staff to gear up for the arrival of the campers. The activities he creates are carefully orchestrated and a lot of fun. We always reach a point in the middle of the summer when the counselors start to drag. Jason is the one who steps forward to re-energize the group. His experience, his positivity, and his wisdom inspire the staff to do their best work. I recommend him without hesitation.

Jason LeVasseur was the opening keynote speaker and MC for our multi-day virtual staff training conference. When we pivoted from an “in person” to “virtual event”, Jason quickly became an integral part of the planning team and shared his expertise so that our event was a memorable learning experience in every possible way from start to finish. No detail was left hanging from meeting with speakers ahead of time to lining up video editing to ensure a quality recording.
